Monarch was released around 2015 (official in-house references vary), as part of Boadicea the Victorious’s regal-themed lineup. The fragrance opens with a refined blend of red berries, grapefruit, bergamot, black tea, and a hint of artemisia (mugwort), offering a crisp and darkly sweet introduction that feels both modern and stately.
As the scent warms, its heart blooms with pink pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, layered over freesia, lily-of-the-valley, rose, and jasmine, creating a luminous floral-spice interplay.
In the dry-down, Monarch settles into a plush blend of leather, oud, cedarwood, patchouli, tonka bean, vanilla, labdanum, incense, and oakmoss, accented by subtle warmth and resinous sweetness. The leather and oud remain grounded but discreet, allowing the spicy, rich base to enhance the fragrance’s regal aura without overwhelming it.
